iQOO 16 will launch in China on September 14 with a holographic Chasing Light finish, 165Hz Samsung display, gaming upgrades, larger battery and redesigned cameras, ahead of its India debut.
iQOO has confirmed September 14 as the China launch date for the iQOO 16, giving its next flagship a clear arrival date after weeks of teasers. The company has now also shown the phone’s new Chasing Light colour, which uses a holographic rear finish that changes with the angle of light. Alongside the design, the iQOO 16 is expected to bring a 2K 165Hz Samsung display, a dedicated Q4 gaming chip, a larger battery and an upgraded triple-camera setup.
iQOO has not announced the China price yet. The India price and launch date are also not confirmed. Current reports place the phone in the premium flagship segment.

The biggest visual change is the Chasing Light finish. iQOO says the rear uses a laser holographic imaging process involving four precision techniques. Red holographic patterns and blue light appear to move across the panel as the viewing angle changes.
The phone also gets a redesigned camera island with three rear cameras arranged horizontally. A geometric pattern surrounds the module, while the raised outer frame sits higher than the camera glass.
That last change could have a practical benefit: when the phone is placed on a flat surface, the raised border can help keep the camera glass from making direct contact with it. This makes the new camera design more than just a visual change.
The iQOO 16 is expected to feature a 6.85-inch Samsung M16 display with 2K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The company is also highlighting improvements to touch response, colour and eye protection through its Samsung Display partnership.
