Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank India Launch Date Confirmed: 6mm Design, 5,000mAh Battery And 15W Charging

The Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 15W will launch in India on September 8, 2026. Xiaomi has not announced the Indian price or confirmed where it will go on sale yet. The company will launch it alongside the Xiaomi Magnetic Power Bank 10000 45W, giving buyers two distinctly different options one focused on thinness and another on capacity and charging speed.

The power bank measures 98.5 × 71.5 × 6mm and weighs 98g. That makes its thickness the standout feature rather than simply another specification on the sheet. Xiaomi says its weight is below that of two medium-sized eggs, making it easier to keep attached to a phone while walking or using it.

The compact body houses a silicon-carbon battery with a 5,000mAh typical capacity. Xiaomi lists 4,900mAh at 3.79V as the rated battery capacity, with typical battery energy of 18.95Wh.

The magnetic wireless output reaches 15W, but iPhones are limited to 7.5W. The USB-C port can deliver up to 22.5W, giving users a faster wired option when wireless charging is not necessary. It can also charge two devices simultaneously, although the combined output is reduced.

There is another useful detail in Xiaomi’s own testing: when paired with the Xiaomi 17, the power bank can increase total music playback time from 15.39 hours to approximately 24.47 hours. That suggests its practical role is better viewed as an extended-use backup rather than a full second battery for a smartphone.

Wireless charging creates more heat than a direct cable connection, so Xiaomi has included a 4,369 square millimetre graphite heat dissipation sheet and dual NTC temperature monitoring. The power bank also has protections for overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuits, overcharging and foreign objects.

The global model supports selected Xiaomi, iPhone, Samsung and Google phones. Its wireless charging system uses magnetic induction and operates at 120 to 147kHz. For compatible devices, the magnetic attachment keeps the charger aligned while leaving the phone usable during charging.

For India, the key unanswered question is now the price. Xiaomi has confirmed the launch date and core specifications, but the Indian MRP and availability details are still to come. That will determine whether the UltraThin model can justify its premium for buyers who value a lighter, less bulky magnetic power bank.
