POCO has started teasing two new X series smartphones in India, and one of them is expected to be the POCO X8 Power. The phone is tipped to arrive by early September with a huge 10,000mAh battery, 100W wired charging and a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. Leaks also point to a 6.83-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display, 50MP main camera, IP68/IP69 protection and a surprisingly slim 8.68mm body. POCO has not yet confirmed the phone’s name, specifications or launch date.
Expected India Price and Launch Date
The POCO X8 Power is expected to launch in India in early September 2026, although POCO has not announced an official date yet. The phone is reportedly expected to be priced at around ₹35,000, positioning it between the regular X8 and higher-end X8 Pro models. Both the launch date and price should be treated as expected details until POCO confirms them.
A 10,000mAh Battery Could Be the Main Attraction
The POCO X8 Power is expected to feature a 10,000mAh battery, making it the largest battery tipped for the X8 series. The X8 Pro reportedly has a 6,500mAh cell, while the X8 Pro Max carries an 8,500mAh battery. The Power model is also tipped to support 100W wired charging and 27W reverse charging.
Despite the large battery, leaks suggest the phone could measure just 8.68mm thick. A six-year battery-life rating has also been mentioned, although POCO has not confirmed these details.
1.5K AMOLED Display and Snapdragon 6 Gen 5
The phone is expected to feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Leaks also mention 3,840Hz PWM dimming and Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
For performance, the X8 Power is tipped to use the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. A lower configuration could reportedly use UFS 2.2 storage. An AnTuTu score of more than 1.15 million has also surfaced, though this remains unverified.
Cameras, Durability and Software Support
The POCO X8 Power is expected to feature a 50MP primary camera, 8MP ultrawide camera and 32MP selfie camera. Details about OIS, sensors and video recording remain unknown.
The phone could also bring IP68/IP69 protection, while leaks point to four Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. These details will need official confirmation.
Possible Redmi Note 17 Pro Max Connection
The POCO X8 Power is also expected to share its hardware with the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, which is reportedly scheduled to launch in Malaysia on August 27. If the connection is accurate, that launch could reveal more about the hardware before POCO announces its Indian model.
For now, the 10,000mAh battery, 100W charging and slim 8.68mm profile remain the most notable details surrounding the upcoming POCO phone.
