New Delhi: A momentous occasion that is believed to transform the tech economy and rural entrepreneurship sector in India in ways unimaginable is the launch of the Drone Tech Multi-State Co-operative Society Ltd., to be hold today at The Leela Palace, Chanakyapuri. It is launching as the highlight of the one-day event - the National Drone Summit 2026, taking place between 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM today. The organisation stands witness to the creation of the first-ever national platform for cooperative drone entrepreneurship in India.
This event is being organised in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the theme of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” (Prosperity through Cooperation).
The Vision: 1 Panchayat – 1 Drone Udyami
Instead of limiting the use of drone technology to only the upper levels of corporate society, the cooperative aims to decentralise the skies. "1 Panchayat – 1 Drone Udyami" is the official national mission declared in the summit, which outlines an extensive plan to have a trained and certified drone entrepreneur from every Panchayat.
This way, by having one drone entrepreneur per each Panchayat, the cooperative seeks to democratise access to the affordable use of advanced technologies for mapping and spraying operations.
"This is not just about the technology but rather a revolution for democracy in our skies," stated industry professionals from the summit. "Using the model of multi-state cooperative, local pilots and farmers become stakeholders in Indian aviation's future."
Building an Industry 4.0 Workforce
To ensure the proper functioning of this national-level fleet, along with the fleet’s implementation, the government is launching an extensive education infrastructure program. Through NSDC’s backing, the summit declared the establishment of Advanced Skill Centres at engineering colleges, universities, polytechnics, and Government ITIs throughout the nation.
In compliance with NEP 2020 and the Skill India mission, the advanced skill centres will provide certification training in the following areas:
- Piloting and Engineering of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, also known as UAV
- Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
- Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing
- Electric Mobility & Drone Maintenance
High-Profile Backing and Industry Attendance
Political leadership and ministerial leadership had shown strong support for the event. Notable personalities who were present included Shri Tarun Chugh (National General Secretary, BJP), Shri Kamlesh Paswan (Union Minister of State for Rural Development), and Shri Mahipal Dhanda (Education Minister of Haryana). In addition, there was a presence of delegates from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the Cooperative Election Authority.
This summit is expected to witness high delegation from various government ministries, manufacturers of drones, RPTO’s certified by DGCA, banks, and rural entrepreneurs. The day-long sessions and exhibitions will be concluded by a formal press conference at the venue from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
National Drone Technology Exhibition 2026
Running parallel to the core policy discussions, the exhibition featured interactive stalls and live drone demonstrations. The exhibition highlighted:
- Specialized agricultural drones for precision farming
- Native "Make in India" manufacturing frameworks
- Innovative Drone-as-a-Service (DaaS) modules
- Remote Pilot Training Organization (RPTO) training structures
- Accessible drone financing models designed to help rural youth purchase units
The Bottom Line
Considering that India is one of the fastest-growing drone markets in the world, the formation of the Drone Tech Multi-State Co-operative Society Ltd. is addressing a critical deficiency. Moving away from fragmented private ownership to an organised system of collaboration, India will ensure that its path to the future through technology does not leave out any village.
