Four New iPad Pro Models Are in Testing!
Four iPad Pro models are being tested right now, and two will come in the smaller 11-inch size and two in the larger 13 inch size. Apple is targeting spring 2027 for their release, and the design is not changing significantly on the outside, but what is happening on the inside is worth paying attention to.
The biggest internal change is a new cooling system. Apple has been testing something called a vapour chamber for the new iPad Pro.
The chips inside will also be faster. Apple has been upgrading the processors in its iPad Pro every year and this generation continues that pattern. The current iPad Pro runs on the M5 chip which arrived in October 2025. The next version will push performance further.
The MacBook Pro is getting a new look, and the entry level 14 inch MacBook Pro which is the more affordable option in the range, is getting a redesigned frame. Apple has given it the internal codename K104.
The new design is expected to match the look of the higher end MacBook Pro models that are reportedly coming later this year. This means for the first time in a while, the entry-level and premium MacBook Pro models will look consistent with each other.
Apple Is Also Trying to Get Faster Chips Out Sooner
The Bloomberg report mentions something beyond just new products. Apple is reportedly trying to release its M7 chip as early as the first half of 2027. That is faster than the pace Apple has typically followed for chip updates.
The reason is simple: artificial intelligence features on Apple devices are becoming more demanding and the company wants its chips to keep up. Apple Intelligence and other on-device AI tools need more processing power than regular tasks, and Apple is responding by accelerating its chip development timeline.
